वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames righteous leadership and spiritual attainment as requiring steadiness of mind; even the most virtuous may face distress, and compassionate counsel (sāntvanā) from a higher authority is presented as an ethical means to restore clarity and resolve.
In the Svargarohana episode, after the preceding events, Indra turns to Yudhiṣṭhira and begins speaking in a consoling tone—praising his excellence and preparing to address his doubts and emotional turmoil.
