Transliteration

kūṭaśālmalikaṃ cāpi duḥsparśa-tīkṣṇa-kaṇṭakam | dadarśa cāpi kaunteyo yātanāḥ pāpa-karmiṇām ||

Translation

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—കൗന്തേയൻ കൂറ്റശാല്മലി വൃക്ഷങ്ങളെയും കണ്ടു; സ്പർശിക്കാൻ പോലും ദുഷ്കരമായ, മൂർച്ചയുള്ള മുള്ളുകളാൽ നിറഞ്ഞവ. അവിടെ പാപകർമ്മികൾക്ക് ഏൽപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന കഠിന യാതനകളും അവൻ കണ്ടു.
