युधिष्ठिर महाबाहो मैवं वोच: कथंचन । दुर्योधनं प्रति नृपं शृणु चेदं वचो मम,“महाबाहु युधिष्छिर! तुम्हें राजा दुर्योधनके प्रति किसी तरह ऐसी बात मुँहसे नहीं निकालनी चाहिये। मेरी इस बातको ध्यान देकर सुनो
Yudhiṣṭhira mahābāho maivaṃ vocaḥ kathaṃcana | Duryodhanaṃ prati nṛpaṃ śṛṇu cedaṃ vaco mama ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“മഹാബാഹു യുധിഷ്ഠിരാ! രാജാവായ ദുര്യോധനനെക്കുറിച്ച് എങ്ങനെയും അത്തരമൊരു വാക്ക് ഉച്ചരിക്കരുത്. എന്റെ ഈ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേൾക്കുക.”
वैशग्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches restraint and ethical discipline in speech: even when judging an adversary, one should not utter improper or rash words, especially about a king; instead, one should listen to wise counsel and speak with measured propriety.
Vaiśaṃpāyana addresses Yudhiṣṭhira directly, cautioning him not to say certain things about King Duryodhana and urging him to listen carefully to the instruction that follows.
