कथं नु धर्म धर्मज्ै: समुद्दिष्ट महात्मभि: । त्यजेयुराहवे शूरा: प्राणहेतो: कथंचन

Transliteration

kathaṃ nu dharma dharmajñaiḥ samuddiṣṭa mahātmabhiḥ | tyajeyur āhave śūrāḥ prāṇa-hetoḥ kathaṃcana ||

Translation

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ധർമ്മം അറിയുന്ന മഹാത്മാക്കൾ വ്യക്തമായി ഉപദേശിച്ച ധർമ്മത്തെ, വീരന്മാർ യുദ്ധമദ്ധ്യേ ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കാനെന്നൊരു കാരണത്താൽ എങ്ങനെ ഒരിക്കലും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കും?
