Chapter 78: Royal Responsibility for Wealth, Social Order, and the Protection of Dvijas
Kekaya Exemplum
विकर्मस्थाश्ष नोपेक्ष्या विप्रा राज्ञा कथठ्चन । इति राज्ञां पुरावृत्तमभिजल्पन्ति साधव:
Bhīṣma uvāca: vikarmasthāś ca noprekṣyā viprā rājñā kathaṃcana | iti rājñāṃ purāvṛttam abhijalpanti sādhavaḥ ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—സ്വവർണധർമ്മത്തിന് വിരുദ്ധമായ പ്രവൃത്തികളിൽ ഏർപ്പെട്ട ബ്രാഹ്മണരെ രാജാവ് യാതൊരു സാഹചര്യത്തിലും അവഗണിക്കരുത്. ധാർമ്മികർ ഇതിനെ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ പുരാതനവും കാലപരമ്പരാഗതവുമായ ആചാരമെന്ന് പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു.
