राजवृत्त-रक्षा-प्रणिधि-षाड्गुण्योपदेशः
Royal Conduct, Protection, Intelligence, and Policy Measures
विधिं पप्रच्छ राज्यस्य सर्वलोकहिते रत: । प्रजानां सुखमन्विच्छन् धर्मशीलं बृहस्पतिम्
bhīṣma uvāca | vidhiṁ papraccha rājyasya sarvalokahite rataḥ | prajānāṁ sukham anvicchan dharmaśīlaṁ bṛhaspatim ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—സകലജനഹിതത്തിൽ നിരതനായ ആ രാജാവ് രാജ്യഭരണത്തിന്റെ യഥാവിധി അന്വേഷിച്ചു. പ്രജകളുടെ സുഖം ആഗ്രഹിച്ച് ധർമശീലനായ ബൃഹസ്പതിയെ സമീപിച്ച്, ധർമാനുസൃതമായും പൊതുഹിതത്തിനായും രാജ്യം എങ്ങനെ നടത്തണം എന്ന നയവും നടപടിക്രമങ്ങളും ചോദിച്ചു.
