राजवृत्त-रक्षा-प्रणिधि-षाड्गुण्योपदेशः
Royal Conduct, Protection, Intelligence, and Policy Measures
राजा वसुमना नाम कौसल्यो धीमतां वर: । महर्षि किल पप्रच्छ कृतप्रज्ञं बृहस्पतिम्
bhīṣma uvāca | rājā vasumanā nāma kausalyō dhīmatāṁ varaḥ | maharṣiṁ kila papraccha kṛtaprajñaṁ bṛhaspatim ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “പുരാതനകാലത്ത് കോസലദേശത്ത് വസുമനാ എന്നൊരു രാജാവുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനികളിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനെന്നു പ്രസിദ്ധൻ. സ്ഥിരവും പരിപക്വവുമായ പ്രജ്ഞയുള്ള മഹർഷി ബൃഹസ്പതിയോട് അവൻ ചോദ്യം ഉന്നയിച്ചു।”
