के धर्मा: सर्ववर्णानां चातुर्वर्ण्यस्य के पृथक् चातुर्वर्ण्याश्रमाणां च राजधर्माश्व॒ के मता:
ke dharmāḥ sarvavarṇānāṃ cāturvarṇyasya ke pṛthak | cāturvarṇyāśramāṇāṃ ca rājadharmāś ca ke matāḥ ||
യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പിതാമഹാ, എല്ലാ വർണ്ണങ്ങൾക്കും ഉപകാരകരമായ ധർമ്മങ്ങൾ ഏതെല്ലാം? ചതുര്വർണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ പ്രത്യേകം ധർമ്മങ്ങൾ എന്തെല്ലാം? ചതുര്വർണ്ണങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം ചതുരാശ്രമങ്ങളുടെ ധർമ്മങ്ങൾ ഏതെല്ലാം? കൂടാതെ രാജാവ് ഭരണത്തിൽ അനുഷ്ഠിക്കേണ്ട രാജധർമ്മങ്ങൾ ഏതെല്ലാമെന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു?
