वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse functions as a colophon, emphasizing that the preceding material is situated within rājadharma—ethical instruction for rulers—using the Paraśurāma episode as an illustrative narrative within the broader Śānti Parva’s teachings on peace, governance, and duty.
No new event occurs here; it marks the formal completion of the forty-ninth chapter of the Paraśurāma-related sub-narrative within the Rājadharmānuśāsana section of Śānti Parva.
