Atithi-satkāra and the Consolation of Wise Counsel (अतिथिसत्कारः प्रज्ञानवचनस्य च पराश्वासनम्)

इलोपहूतयोगेन हरे भागं क्रतुष्वहम्‌ । वर्णश्न मे हरि: श्रेष्ठस्तस्माद्धरिरहं स्मृत:

ilopahūtayogena hare bhāgaṃ kratuṣv aham | varṇaś ca me hariḥ śreṣṭhas tasmād dharir ahaṃ smṛtaḥ ||

യജ്ഞങ്ങളിൽ ‘ഇലോപഹൂതാ…’ മുതലായ മന്ത്രംകൊണ്ട് ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എനിക്കുള്ള നിശ്ചിത ഭാഗം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ദേഹവർണ്ണവും ഹരിത-ശ്യാമമായതിനാൽ എന്നെ ‘ഹരി’ എന്നു സ്മരിക്കുന്നു.
