Atithi’s Direction to the Nāga-sage Padma at Naimiṣa (अतिथ्युपदेशः—नैमिषे पद्मनागोपाख्यानप्रस्तावः)

निदर्शनं चात्र भवति विश्वेषामग्ने यज्ञानां त्वं होतेति । त्वं हितो देवैर्मनुष्यैर्जगत इति,इस विषयमें यह दृष्टान्त भी है--हे अग्निदेव! तुम सम्पूर्ण यज्ञोंक होता हो। समस्त देवताओं तथा मनुष्योंसहित जगत्‌के हितैषी हो

nidārśanaṃ cātra bhavati viśveṣām agne yajñānāṃ tvaṃ hoteti | tvaṃ hito devair manuṣyair jagata iti |

അർജുനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഇവിടെയും ഒരു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തം ഉദ്ധരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു— ‘ഹേ അഗ്നേ! നീ സർവ്വ യജ്ഞങ്ങളുടെയും ഹോതാവാണ്.’ ദേവന്മാരും മനുഷ്യരും ഉൾപ്പെടെ സമസ്ത ലോകത്തിന്റെയും ഹിതൈഷിയെന്നു നീ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
