Educational Q&A

The verse highlights lokahita—acting for the welfare of all—as a dharmic motive. Even the highest authorities (sages and gods) coordinate their actions with Brahmā, suggesting that ethical governance and right action are grounded in shared responsibility and concern for the world.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that the sages and the gods, accompanying Brahmā, travel to the northern shore of the Ocean of Milk. The movement signals a purposeful gathering or approach to a sacred/cosmic location in order to pursue a world-benefiting objective.
