Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic decorum: even one of exalted origin should honor venerable sages. Reverence (abhyarcana) and humility are presented as essential ethical conduct before departing or acting further.

Nārada describes a figure called the 'son of Parameṣṭhin' who, after being granted leave (visṛṣṭaḥ), pays respectful worship to an ancient ṛṣi, marking a proper and respectful conclusion to an encounter with a revered seer.
