एकान्तिधर्म-प्रश्नः (Inquiry into Ekāntin Dharma) / The Origin and Practice of Single-Pointed Nārāyaṇa-Centered Discipline
अस्य प्रवर्तनाच्चैव प्रजावन्तो भविष्यथ । सच राजश्रिया युक्तो भविष्यति महान् वसु:
asya pravartanāc caiva prajā-vanto bhaviṣyatha | sa ca rājaśriyā yukto bhaviṣyati mahān vasuḥ ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇത് പ്രചരിപ്പിച്ച് പ്രവർത്തനത്തിലാക്കുകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും സന്താനസമ്പന്നരാകും; അഥവാ പ്രജ വർധിച്ച് പുഷ്ടിപ്പെടും. ആ രാജാവ് വസു (ഉപരിചരൻ)യും രാജലക്ഷ്മിയാൽ യുക്തനായി സത്യമായും മഹാനായ പുരുഷനാകും.
भीष्म उवाच
Bhishma links the proper initiation and propagation of a righteous practice with tangible social goods: growth of progeny and population, and the strengthening of legitimate royal prosperity. The ethical point is that dharmic conduct, when actively established and shared, sustains both family continuity and stable kingship.
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on governance and dharma, Bhishma addresses his listeners and predicts the beneficial results of putting a certain dharmic undertaking into practice: the community will become ‘prajāvān’ (rich in offspring/people), and King Vasu (Uparicara) will attain great stature along with royal splendor.
