Nārāyaṇasya Guhya-nāmāni Niruktāni (Etymologies of Nārāyaṇa’s Secret Epithets) / नारायणस्य गुह्यनामानि निरुक्तानि

न हिंस्यात्‌ सर्वभूतानि मैत्रायणगतकश्चरेत्‌ । नेदं जन्म समासाद्य वैरं कुर्वीत केनचित्‌,किसी भी प्राणीकी हिंसा न करे। सबके प्रति मित्रभाव रखते हुए विचरे तथा यह मनुष्य-जन्म पाकर किसीके साथ वैर न करे

na hiṁsyāt sarvabhūtāni maitrāyaṇagatakś caret | nedaṁ janma samāsādya vairaṁ kurvīta kenacit ||

നാരദൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഏതൊരു ജീവിയെയും ഹിംസിക്കരുത്. എല്ലാവരോടും മൈത്രിഭാവത്തിൽ നിലകൊണ്ട് ലോകത്തിൽ ചരിക്കണം; ഈ ദുർലഭമായ മനുഷ്യജന്മം ലഭിച്ച ശേഷം ആരോടും വൈരം സൃഷ്ടിക്കരുത്।
