उक्ता: स्‍्मो यद्‌ भगवता तदात्वायतिसंहितम्‌ । तन्नो मनसि संरूढं करिष्यामस्तथा च तत्‌,फिर व्यासजीसे बोले--“भगवन्‌! आपने भविष्यमें हमारे हितका विचार करके जो बातें बतायी हैं, वे हमारे मनमें बैठ गयी हैं। हम अवश्य उनका पालन करेंगे”

uktāḥ smo yad bhagavatā tadātvāyati-saṁhitam | tan no manasi saṁrūḍhaṁ kariṣyāmas tathā ca tat ||

പിന്നീട് അവർ വ്യാസനോട് പറഞ്ഞു—“ഭഗവൻ! ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ സാഹചര്യത്തിന് യോജിച്ചും വരാനിരിക്കുന്ന നന്മയെ കണക്കിലെടുത്തും നിങ്ങൾ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ഉപദേശം ഞങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സിൽ ദൃഢമായി പതിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞങ്ങൾ അതുപോലെ തന്നെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയും അതിനെ അതുപോലെ തന്നെ നടപ്പാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.”
