अध्याय ३२३ — श्वेतद्वीपगमनम्, यज्ञभाग-विवादः, एकान्तिभक्त्या नारायणदर्शन-नियमः (Śvetadvīpa Journey; Dispute over Sacrificial Share; Rule of Nārāyaṇa-vision through Single-minded Devotion)
संकल्पेनाथ योगेन दुष्प्रापमकृतात्मभि: । वरयामास देवेशमास्थितस्तप उत्तमम्
saṅkalpenātha yogena duṣprāpam akṛtātmabhiḥ | varayāmāsa deveśam āsthitas tapa uttamam ||
ഇങ്ങനെ സംकल्पം ധരിച്ചു യോഗംകൊണ്ട് ഉത്തമ തപസ്സിൽ സ്ഥാപിതനായ വേദവ്യാസൻ, ആത്മനിയന്ത്രണമില്ലാത്തവർക്ക് ദുർലഭനായ ദേവേശൻ മഹാദേവനോട് വരം അപേക്ഷിച്ചു।
