अरिष्टानि प्रवक्ष्यामि विहितानि मनीषिभि: । संवत्सरवियोगस्य सम्भवन्ति शरीरिण:,अब मैं ज्ञानी पुरुषोंद्वारा नियत किये हुए अमंगल अथवा मृत्युको सूचित करनेवाले उन चिह्ढोंका वर्णन करता हूँ, जो देहधारीके शरीर छूटनेमें केवल एक वर्ष शेष रह जानेपर उसके सामने प्रकट होते हैं

ariṣṭāni pravakṣyāmi vihitāni manīṣibhiḥ | saṃvatsaraviyogasya sambhavanti śarīriṇaḥ ||

ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ മേധാവികൾ നിശ്ചയിച്ച അശുഭനിമിത്തങ്ങൾ—മരണസൂചക ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ—വിവരിക്കുന്നു; ദേഹധാരിക്ക് ദേഹവിയോഗത്തിന് (മരണത്തിന്) ഒരു വർഷം മാത്രം ശേഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നു.
