Saṃhāra-krama (The Sequence of Cosmic Dissolution) — Yājñavalkya’s Discourse
यथा च नावं कौन्तेय कर्णधार: समाहित: । महार्णवगतां शीघ्र॑ नयेत् पार्थिवसत्तम,कुन्तीकुमार! नृपश्रेष्ठ! जैसे सावधान नाविक समुद्रमें पड़ी हुई नौकाको शीघ्र ही किनारेपर लगा देता है, उसी प्रकार योगके अनुसार तत्त्वको जाननेवाला पुरुष समाधिके द्वारा मनको परमात्मामें लगाकर इस देहका त्याग करनेके अनन्तर दुर्गम स्थान (परमधाम) को प्राप्त होता है
yathā ca nāvaṁ kaunteya karṇadhāraḥ samāhitaḥ | mahārṇavagatāṁ śīghraṁ nayet pārthivasattama ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ കുന്തീപുത്രാ, രാജശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ച നൗകയെ സ്ഥിരബുദ്ധിയുള്ള ജാഗ്രതയുള്ള കർണധാരൻ വേഗത്തിൽ ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലെത്തിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, യോഗാനുസാരമായി തത്ത്വം അറിയുന്നവൻ സമാധിയാൽ മനസ്സിനെ പരമാത്മാവിൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ച്, ഈ ദേഹം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച ശേഷം ദുർലഭമായ പരമസ്ഥാനത്തെ പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.
