जब ब्रह्माजीने इस प्रकार कहा और यज्ञमें भाग मिलनेकी भी व्यवस्था हो गयी, तब महादेवजी अमिततेजस्वी भगवान् ब्रह्मासे इस प्रकार बोले--“तथास्तु' ऐसा ही हो ।।
tathāstu—ity evaṃ bhavatu. parāṃ ca prītim agamad utsmayan caiva pinākadhṛk | avāpa ca tadā bhāgaṃ yathoktaṃ brahmaṇā bhavaḥ ||
അപ്പോൾ മഹാദേവൻ “തഥാസ്തു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് പരമ പ്രീതിയിലായി. പിനാകധാരിയായ ഭവൻ മന്ദഹാസത്തോടെ ബ്രഹ്മാവ് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ അന്നേരം തന്നെ യാഗഭാഗം പ്രാപിച്ചു।
