उशनसः (शुक्रस्य) चरितम् — The Account of Uśanā (Śukra): Yoga, Grievance, and Pacification
कालसंख्यानसंख्यातं सृष्टिस्थितिपरायणम् । त॑ भाषमाणं भगवानुशना प्रत्यभाषत । धीमान् दुष्टप्रलापांस्त्वं तात कस्मात् प्रभाषसे,जो काल नामसे प्रसिद्ध एवं सृष्टि और पालनके परम आश्रय हैं, उन परमात्माका प्रतिपादन करते हुए वृत्रासुरकी बात सुनकर भगवान् शुक्राचार्यने उससे कहा--“तात! तुम तो बड़े बुद्धिमान् हो, फिर ये असुरभावके विपरीत दोषयुक्त निरर्थक वचन कैसे कह रहे हो?
kālasaṅkhyānasaṅkhyātaṃ sṛṣṭisthitiparāyaṇam | taṃ bhāṣamāṇaṃ bhagavān uśanā pratyabhāṣata | dhīmān duṣṭapralāpāṃs tvaṃ tāta kasmāt prabhāṣase |
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—കാലവും സംഖ്യാമാനവുംകൊണ്ട് പ്രസിദ്ധനായും സൃഷ്ടി-സ്ഥിതികളുടെ പരമാശ്രയനായും ഉള്ള പരമാത്മാവിനെക്കുറിച്ച് വൃത്രാസുരൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ട് ഭഗവാൻ ഉശനാ (ശുക്രാചാര്യൻ) അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞു—“വത്സാ! നീ ബുദ്ധിമാനല്ലോ; പിന്നെ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് ഇങ്ങനെ ദോഷയുക്തവും വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുന്നതുമായ വ്യർത്ഥവചനങ്ങൾ ഉച്ചരിക്കുന്നു?”
