पाणिपादं च पायुश्न मेहनं॑ पठचमं मुखम्‌ । इति संशब्द्यमानानि शृणु कर्मेन्द्रियाण्यपि,हाथ, पैर, पायु और उपस्थ तथा पाँचवाँ मुख--ये सब-के-सब कर्मन्द्रिय कहे जाते हैं। तुम इनका भी विवरण सुनो

pāṇipādaṃ ca pāyuś ca mehanaṃ pañcamaṃ mukham | iti saṃśabdyamānāni śṛṇu karmendriyāṇy api ||

അസിതൻ പറഞ്ഞു—കൈകളും കാലുകളും, പായുവും ഉപസ്ഥവും, അഞ്ചാമതായി മുഖവും—ഇവയെല്ലാം ‘കർമേന്ദ്രിയങ്ങൾ’ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; ഇവയുടെ വിവരണവും കേൾക്കുക.
