Āśrama-dharma and Brahmacarya: Śuka’s Inquiry on Karma and Tyāga (शुक-प्रश्नः कर्मत्यागविवेकश्च)

तेषां प्रतिष्ठिता कीर्तियावत्‌ स्थास्यति मेदिनी । दानयज्ञप्रजासगैरेते हि दिवमाप्नुवन्‌,जबतक यह पृथ्वी रहेगी, तबतक उनकी कीर्ति संसारमें स्थिर रहेगी। उन सबने दान, यज्ञ और प्रजा-सृष्टिके द्वारा स्वर्गलोक प्राप्त किया था

teṣāṁ pratiṣṭhitā kīrtir yāvat sthāsyati medinī | dānayajñaprajāsargair ete hi divam āpnuvan ||

ഈ ഭൂമി നിലനിൽക്കുന്നത്രയും കാലം ലോകത്തിൽ അവരുടെ ഉറച്ചുനിലക്കുന്ന കീർത്തി അചഞ്ചലമായി നിലനിൽക്കും. കാരണം ദാനം, യജ്ഞം, പ്രജാസൃഷ്ടി—ഇവയിലൂടെ തന്നെയാണ് അവർ സ്വർഗ്ഗലോകം പ്രാപിച്ചത്.
