शक्र उवाच आप एव मनजुष्येषु द्रवन्त्य: परिचारिणी: । तास्ते पादं तितिक्षन्तामलमापस्तितिक्षितुम्,इन्द्रने कहा--लक्ष्मी! मनुष्यलोकमें जल ही सब ओर प्रवाहित होता है; अतः वही तुम्हारे दूसरे पैरका भार सहन करे; क्योंकि जल इस कार्यके लिये पूर्ण समर्थ है
śakra uvāca āpa eva manuṣyeṣu dravantyaḥ paricāriṇyaḥ | tāste pādaṃ titikṣantām alam āpas titikṣitum ||
ശക്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ലക്ഷ്മീ! മനുഷ്യലോകത്തിൽ ജലങ്ങളേയാണ് എല്ലായിടത്തും ഒഴുകി സേവകരെന്നപോലെ പരിചരിക്കുന്നത്. ആ ജലങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ പാദഭാരം വഹിക്കട്ടെ; ജലങ്ങൾ ഈ ഭാരം സഹിക്കാൻ പൂർണ്ണമായി സമർത്ഥമാണ്.
