भीष्म उवाच एवमुक्तो भगवता महेन्द्र: पृथिवीं तदा । चचारैरावतस्कन्धमधिरुहा[ू श्रिया वृत:
bhīṣma uvāca evam ukto bhagavatā mahendraḥ pṛthivīṃ tadā | cacāra airāvataskandham adhiruhya śriyā vṛtaḥ ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—രാജാവേ! ഭഗവാൻ ബ്രഹ്മാവിന്റെ ഇങ്ങനെ ഉള്ള ആജ്ഞ ലഭിച്ചതോടെ മഹേന്ദ്രൻ (ഇന്ദ്രൻ) ഐരാവതത്തിന്റെ പുറത്ത് കയറി, രാജലക്ഷ്മിയാൽ ദീപ്തനായി ഭൂമിയിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
