Janamejaya’s Appeal for Pacification and Śaunaka’s Counsel on Humility (जनमेजय-शौनक संवादः)
एवमुक्तस्तत: पक्षी पर्णान्यास्तीर्य भूतले । यथाशकत्या हि पर्णेन ज्वलनार्थ द्रुतं ययौ
evam uktas tataḥ pakṣī parṇāny āstīrya bhūtale | yathāśaktyā hi parṇena jvalanārthaṃ drutaṃ yayau ||
അങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ പക്ഷി നിലത്ത് ധാരാളം ഇലകൾ വിരിച്ചു; പിന്നെ കഴിയുന്നത്ര ചിറകുകളുടെ ബലത്തോടെ തീ കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ വേഗത്തിൽ പറന്നു പോയി।
