कपोत-लुब्धकसंवादः — Hunter’s Remorse and Renunciatory Resolve

अपन का छा ] अतकडऑकाडज द्विचत्वारिशर्दाधिकशततमो< ध्याय: आपत्कालमें राजाके धर्मका निश्चय तथा उत्तम ब्राह्मणोंके सेवनका आदेश युधिछिर उवाच यदि घोर समुद्िष्टमश्रद्धेयमिवानृतम्‌ । अस्ति स्विद्‌ दस्युमर्यादा यामहं परिवर्जये

Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | yadi ghoraṃ samudiṣṭam aśraddheyam ivānṛtam | asti svid dasyu-maryādā yām ahaṃ parivarjaye ||

യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“ആപത്തുകാലത്ത് മഹാപുരുഷന്മാർക്കുപോലും വിശ്വസിക്കാനാകാത്തതുപോലെ, അസത്യമെന്നു തോന്നുമത്ര ഭീകരമായ ഒരു കർമ്മം കടമയായി നിർദ്ദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടാൽ, കള്ളന്മാരുടെയും കൊള്ളക്കാരുടെയും ദുഷ്കൃത്യങ്ങൾക്ക് പിന്നെ ഏതു പരിധി ശേഷിക്കും? ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കേണ്ട ആ പരിധി ഏതാണ്? പറയുക.”
