Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti (दस्युमर्यादा तथा बुद्धिप्रधान-राजनीति)

क्षत्रिये संगतं नास्ति न प्रीतिर्न च सौहदम्‌ । कारणात्‌ सान्त्वयन्त्येते कृतार्था: संत्यजन्ति च,'क्षत्रियमें संगति निभानेकी भावना नहीं होती। उसमें न प्रेम होता है, न सौहार्द। ये किसी हेतु या स्वार्थसे ही दूसरोंको सान्त्वना देते हैं। जब इनका काम निकल जाता है, तब ये आश्रित व्यक्तिको त्याग देते हैं

kṣatriye saṅgataṃ nāsti na prītir na ca sauhṛdam | kāraṇāt sāntvayante te kṛtārthāḥ saṃtyajanti ca ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ‘ക്ഷത്രിയനിൽ കൂട്ടായ്മ നിലനിർത്താനുള്ള സ്ഥിരതയില്ല; യഥാർത്ഥ സ്നേഹവും സൗഹൃദവും ഇല്ല. ഏതോ കാരണമോ സ്വാർത്ഥലാഭമോ കൊണ്ടാണ് അവർ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്; ലക്ഷ്യം സാധിച്ചാൽ ആശ്രിതനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.’
