Draupadī’s Exhortation on Rājadharma and Daṇḍa (द्रौपद्याः राजधर्मोपदेशः)
द्रौपहुवाच इमे ते भ्रातर: पार्थ शुष्यन्ते स््तोकका इव । वावाश्यमानास्तिष्ठन्ति न चैनानभिनन्दसे,कुन्तीकुमार! आपके ये भाई आपका संकल्प सुनकर सूख गये हैं; पपीहोंके समान आपसे राज्य करनेकी रट लगा रहे हैं; फिर भी आप इनका अभिनन्दन नहीं करते? ।।
Draupadī uvāca: ime te bhrātaraḥ Pārtha śuṣyante stokakā iva | vāvāśyamānās tiṣṭhanti na cainān abhinandase, Kuntīkumarā ||
ദ്രൗപദി പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ പാർത്ഥാ! നിന്റെ ഈ സഹോദരർ ചെറുകുളങ്ങൾ വറ്റുന്നതുപോലെ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു. മഴക്കായി കരയുന്ന പക്ഷികളെപ്പോലെ അവർ നിലവിളിച്ച് നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നു—രാജ്യം ഏറ്റെടുക്കണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ച്; എങ്കിലും നീ അവരെ അഭിനന്ദിക്കുന്നില്ല, ഹേ കുന്തീപുത്രാ!
