उदार यद्‌ भवानाह नैतच्चित्रं भवद्विधे । विहितो यस्तु मार्गो मे हितार्थ शृणु तं मम,'भैया बिलाव! आपने जो उदारतापूर्ण वचन कहा है, यह आप-जैसे बुद्धिमानके लिये आश्चर्यकी बात नहीं है। मैंने दोनोंके हितके लिये जो बात निर्धारित की है, वह मुझसे सुनो

udāra yad bhavān āha naitac citraṃ bhavad-vidhe | vihito yas tu mārgo me hitārthaṃ śṛṇu taṃ mama ||

ഹേ സഹോദരാ പൂച്ചേ! നീ പറഞ്ഞ ഉദാരവാക്കുകൾ നിനക്കുപോലുള്ള ബുദ്ധിമാനിൽ അത്ഭുതകരമല്ല. ഇനി ഇരുവരുടെയും ക്ഷേമത്തിനായി ഞാൻ നിശ്ചയിച്ച മാർഗം എന്റെ വായിൽ നിന്ന് കേൾക്കുക.
