Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca
कश्चित् तरति काछ्ेन सुगम्भीरां महानदीम् । स तारयति तत् काष्ठं स च काछेन तार्यते,“कोई पुरुष जब लकड़ीके सहारे किसी गहरी एवं विशाल नदीको पार करता है, तब उस लकड़ीको भी किनारे लगा देता है तथा वह लकड़ी भी उसे तारनेमें सहायक होती है
kaścit tarati kāṣṭhena sugambhīrāṃ mahānadīm | sa tārayati tat kāṣṭhaṃ sa ca kāṣṭhena tāryate ||
ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഒരു മരക്കഷ്ണത്തെ ആശ്രയിച്ച് അതിഗംഭീരമായ മഹാനദി കടക്കുന്നു. അവൻ ആ മരക്കഷ്ണത്തെയും മറുകരയിലെത്തിക്കുന്നു; അതേ മരക്കഷ്ണം തന്നെയാണ് അവനെ കടത്തുന്ന ഉപാധിയാകുന്നത്.
