तेनानुचरता तस्मिन्‌ वने विश्वस्तचारिणा । भक्ष्यं मृगयमाणेन चिराद्‌ दृष्टं तदामिषम्‌,उस वनमें विश्वस्त होकर विचरते तथा आहारकी खोज करते हुए उस चूहेने बहुत देरके बाद वह माँस देखा, जो जालपर बिखेरा गया था। चूहा उस जालपर चढ़कर उस मांसको खाने लगा

tenānucaratā tasmin vane viśvastacāriṇā | bhakṣyaṁ mṛgayamāṇena cirād dṛṣṭaṁ tad āmiṣam ||

ആ വനത്തിൽ വിശ്വാസത്തോടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചും ആഹാരം തേടിയും നടന്ന അവൻ, ഏറെ കഴിഞ്ഞ് വലയിൽ ചിതറിച്ചിട്ടിരുന്ന ആ മാംസം കണ്ടു.
