Transliteration

śākhāṃ tasya samāśritya vasati sma sukhaṃ purā | lomaśo nāma mārjāraḥ pakṣi-saṅghāta-khādakaḥ ||

Translation

ആ വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ശാഖയെ ആശ്രയിച്ച്, ഒരുകാലത്ത് ‘ലോമശ’ എന്നൊരു പൂച്ച അവിടെ വലിയ സുഖത്തോടെ വസിച്ചിരുന്നു. പക്ഷിസമൂഹങ്ങളായിരുന്നു അതിന്റെ ആഹാരം.
