Shloka 53
भीष्म उवाच स तद्वचः शत्रुनिबर्हणे रत- स्तथा चकारावितथं बृहस्पते: । चचार काले विजयाय चारिहा वशं च शत्रूननयत् पुरंदर:,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--युधिष्ठिर! शत्रुओंके संहारमें तत्पर रहनेवाले शत्रुनाशक इन्द्रने बृहस्पतिजीका वह यथार्थ वचन सुनकर वैसा ही किया। उन्होंने उपयुक्त समयपर विजयके लिये यात्रा की और समस्त शत्रुओंको अपने अधीन कर लिया
bhīṣma uvāca | sa tadvacaḥ śatrunibarhaṇe rataḥ tathā cakārāvitathaṁ bṛhaspateḥ | cacāra kāle vijayāya cārihā vaśaṁ ca śatrūn anayat purandaraḥ ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—യുധിഷ്ഠിരാ! ശത്രുനിഗ്രഹത്തിൽ സദാ തൽപരനായ ശത്രുനാശകനായ ഇന്ദ്രൻ ബൃഹസ്പതിയുടെ സത്യോപദേശം കേട്ട് അതുപോലെ തന്നെയായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. യുക്തമായ സമയത്ത് വിജയാർത്ഥം പുറപ്പെട്ടു പുരന്ദരൻ എല്ലാ ശത്രുക്കളെയും തന്റെ അധീനത്തിലാക്കി.
