वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical weight of direct witnessing: the horrors of war are not abstract reports but lived realities. By emphasizing ‘pratyakṣa’ (direct perception), it highlights accountability and the gravity of testimony about violence.
Vaiśampāyana addresses Yādavanandana (Kṛṣṇa), stating that the immense, terrifying devastation of the battle was seen by him firsthand, reinforcing Kṛṣṇa’s role as an immediate witness to the war’s catastrophic events.
