अन्योन्यमभिधावन्तौ मत्ताविव महाद्विपौ । वासितासंगमे दृप्ती शरदीव मदोत्कटौ
anyonyam abhidhāvantau mattāv iva mahādvipau | vāsitāsaṅgame dṛptī śaradīva madotkaṭau ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ശരദ്കാലത്ത് സംഗമാഭിലാഷത്തോടെ മദോന്മത്തമായ രണ്ട് മഹാഗജങ്ങൾ ഗർവത്തിൽ ഉന്മത്തമായി പരസ്പരം പാഞ്ഞടുക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, സ്വന്തം ബലത്തിന്റെ അഭിമാനത്തിൽ ഉല്ലസിച്ച ആ ഇരുവീരരും ഏറ്റുമുട്ടാൻ മുന്നേറി. ശത്രുദമനകരായ ആ രണ്ടുയോദ്ധാക്കൾ രണ്ട് സർപ്പങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ജ്വലിക്കുന്ന ക്രോധവിഷം ഛർദ്ദിച്ച് കോപദൃഷ്ടിയോടെ പരസ്പരം നോക്കി നിന്നു.
