स ददर्श महावीर्य देवदेवमुमापतिम् । शैलपुत्र्या समासीनं भूतसंघशतैर्वृतम्,कुमारने देखा कि सैकड़ों भूतसंघोंसे घिरे हुए महापराक्रमी देवाधिदेव उमापति गिरिराजनन्दिनी उमाके साथ पास ही बैठे हुए हैं
sa dadarśa mahāvīryaṃ devadevam umāpatim | śailaputryā samāsīnaṃ bhūtasaṅghaśatair vṛtam ||
കുമാരൻ മഹാവീര്യനായ ദേവദേവൻ ഉമാപതിയെ ദർശിച്ചു—ശൈലപുത്രിയായ ഉമയോടൊപ്പം സമീപം ആസീനനായി, നൂറുകണക്കിന് ഭൂതഗണങ്ങൾ ചുറ്റിനിന്നു.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the supremacy of the divine and the wider cosmic order beyond the battlefield. Seeing Śiva with Umā and the attendant hosts evokes reverence and reminds the listener that dharma and moral accountability stand above transient human power.
A character (referred to as ‘he’) has a vision/encounter in which he sees Śiva—called Devadeva and Umāpati—seated with Umā (the mountain-born goddess), surrounded by numerous bhūta-hosts, indicating Śiva’s majestic presence and retinue.
