यदिदं चापलं देव कृतमेतत्‌ स्मयादिकम्‌ | ततः प्रसादयामि त्वां तपो मे न क्षरेदिति

Transliteration

yad idaṁ cāpalaṁ deva kṛtam etat smayādikam | tataḥ prasādayāmi tvāṁ tapo me na kṣared iti ||

Translation

വൈശംപായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഹേ ദേവാ! ഞാൻ കാണിച്ച ഈ ചാപല്യം—അഹങ്കാരാദികളുടെ പ്രകടനം—അശ്രദ്ധയാൽ സംഭവിച്ചതാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ നിന്നെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ തപസ്സ് ക്ഷയിക്കാതിരിക്കണമേ എന്ന് പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.
