सुभूमिकेति विख्याता सरस्वत्यास्तटे वरे । राजन्! सरस्वतीके सुन्दर तटपर वह उन अप्सराओंकी मंगलमयी क्रीडाभूमि है, इसलिये वह स्थान सुभूमिक नामसे विख्यात है

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—രാജാവേ! സരസ്വതിയുടെ ഉത്തമ തീരത്ത് ‘സുഭൂമികാ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധമായൊരു സ്ഥലം ഉണ്ട്; അത് അപ്സരസ്സുകളുടെ പുണ്യമയമായ ക്രീഡാഭൂമിയായതിനാലാണ് ‘സുഭൂമികാ’ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്.
