Sarasvatī Tīrtha Itinerary — Balarāma’s Pilgrimage

mantrayuktānū samadadat te ca prītās tadā bhavan | mahārāja! tadanantaraṃ tritane devatābhyo vidhipūrvakaṃ mantroccāraṇaṃ kṛtvā teṣāṃ bhāgān samarpitavān | tena te tadā mahāprītā abhavan |

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharma expressed through correct ritual conduct: offerings should be made with mantra and according to prescribed rules, giving each deity their due share. Ethical order is maintained by disciplined reverence, not by impulse.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that, after a prior action, the performer distributes offerings empowered by mantras and then formally presents the allotted portions to the deities. The gods, receiving these shares properly, become pleased.
