सरस्वतीतीर्थानुक्रमः — बलरामस्य तीर्थयात्रा

तद्धयादपसर्पन्‌ वै तस्मिन्‌ कूपे पपात ह । अगाधे सुमहाघोरे सर्वभूतभयंकरे,त्रित अपने आगे रास्तेमें खड़े हुए भेड़ियेको देखकर उसके भयसे भागने लगे। भागते- भागते वे समस्त प्राणियोंके लिये भयंकर उस महाघोर अगाध कूपमें गिर पड़े

taddhyādapasarpan vai tasmin kūpe papāta ha | agādhe sumahāghore sarvabhūtabhayaṅkare ||

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “അങ്ങനെ ഭയന്ന് പിന്മാറിപ്പോകവെ അവൻ ആ കിണറ്റിലേക്കുതന്നെ വീണു—അത് അഗാധവും അത്യന്തം ഭീകരവും സർവ്വജീവികൾക്കും ഭയങ്കരവുമായിരുന്നു.”
