Adhyāya 33: Rauhiṇeya (Balarāma) is welcomed and takes his seat to witness the gadā-engagement

त्वामासाद्य महायुद्धे निहता: पाण्डुनन्दन । “तुमने कितने ही राजाओं, राजकुमारों और गजराजोंको मार गिराया है। पाण्डुनन्दन! कलिंग, मगध, प्राच्य, गान्धार और कुरुदेशके योद्धा भी इस महायुद्धमें तुम्हारे सामने आकर कालके गालमें चले गये हैं

tvām āsādya mahāyuddhe nihatāḥ pāṇḍunandana |

സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പാണ്ഡുനന്ദനേ, ഈ മഹായുദ്ധത്തിൽ നിന്നെ നേരിട്ട് ഏറ്റുമുട്ടി അനേകർ നിഹതരായി. നീ അനവധി രാജാക്കളെയും രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയും ഗജരാജന്മാരെയും വീഴ്ത്തി; കൂടാതെ കലിംഗം, മഗധം, പ്രാച്യർ, ഗന്ധാരം, കുരുദേശം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ യോദ്ധാക്കളും യുദ്ധത്തിൽ നിന്നെ നേരിട്ട് മരണത്തിന്റെ വായിലേക്കു പോയി।
