गदां परामृशद् धीमान् धार्तराष्ट्री महाबल: । इसके बाद महाबली बुद्धिमान् दुर्योधनने लोहेकी बनी हुई वह सुवर्णभूषित भारी गदा हाथमें ली
gadāṁ parāmṛśad dhīmān dhārtarāṣṭrī mahābalaḥ |
അതിനുശേഷം ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രപുത്രനായ മഹാബലവാനും ധീമാനുമായ ദുര്യോധനൻ, സ്വർണ്ണാഭരണങ്ങളാൽ അലങ്കരിച്ച ഇരുമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ആ ഭാരമേറിയ ഗദ കൈയിൽ പിടിച്ചു.
