महदासीतू तयोर्युद्धे चित्ररूपं भयानकम् | यादृशं समरे पूर्व जम्भवासवयोर्युधि
mahād āsīt tu tayor yuddhe citrarūpaṃ bhayānakam | yādṛśaṃ samare pūrvaṃ jambhāvāsavayor yudhi ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ആ ഇരുവരുടെയും ഇടയിൽ മഹായുദ്ധം ഉദിച്ചു; രൂപത്തിൽ വിചിത്രവും ദർശനത്തിൽ ഭയാനകവുമായിരുന്നു അത്. പണ്ടുകാലത്ത് യുദ്ധഭൂമിയിൽ ജംഭനും വാസവനും (ഇന്ദ്രൻ) തമ്മിൽ നടന്ന പോരാട്ടം എങ്ങനെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവോ, അതുപോലെ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു ഇവരുടെയും ഏറ്റുമുട്ടൽ।
