शल्यवधे कौरवसेनाभङ्गः, भीमस्य गदायुद्धं, दुर्योधनस्य समाह्वानम्

धनु:शब्दं महत् कृत्वा सहायुध्यन्त पाण्डवै: । महाराज! उन शूरवीरोंने युद्ध करनेका दृढ़ निश्चय कर लिया था, अतः धनुषकी गम्भीर टंकार करके पाण्डवोंके साथ संग्राम आरम्भ कर दिया
dhanuḥśabdaṃ mahat kṛtvā sahāyudhyanta pāṇḍavaiḥ | mahārāja! te śūravīrā yuddhaṃ kartuṃ dṛḍhaniścayāḥ, tasmād dhanuṣāṃ gambhīrāṃ ṭaṅkāraṃ kṛtvā pāṇḍavaiḥ saha saṅgrāmam ārabdhavantaḥ |
മഹാരാജാ! ആ വീരന്മാർ യുദ്ധത്തിന് ദൃഢനിശ്ചയം എടുത്തിരുന്നു; അതിനാൽ വില്ലുകളുടെ ഗംഭീരധ്വനി ഉയർത്തി പാണ്ഡവരോടൊപ്പം അവർ സമരം ആരംഭിച്ചു।
