Sauptika Parva, Adhyaya 8 — Dhṛṣṭadyumna-vadha and the Camp’s Nocturnal Rout
सुतसोमस्य सासिं त॑ बाहुं छित्त्वा नरर्षभ । पुनरप्याहनत् पाश्वें स भिन्नहृदयो5पतत्
Sutasomasya sāsiṃ taṃ bāhuṃ chittvā nararṣabha | punar apy āhanat pārśve sa bhinnahṛdayo 'patat ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ നരശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! അശ്വത്ഥാമാവ് സുതസോമന്റെ വാളോടുകൂടിയ ഭുജം വെട്ടിമാറ്റി, പിന്നെയും അവന്റെ പാർശ്വത്തിൽ പ്രഹരിച്ചു. ഹൃദയ-വക്ഷസ്ഥലം പിളർന്നതിനാൽ സുതസോമൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ വീണു.
