Brahmaśirastra-pratisaṃhāra — Retraction and redirection of the supreme weapon
Sauptika Parva, Adhyāya 15
विसृष्टस्य रणे तस्य परमास्त्रस्य संग्रहे । अशक्तः पाण्डवादन्य: साक्षादपि शतक्रतु:
visṛṣṭasya raṇe tasya paramāstrasya saṅgrahe | aśaktaḥ pāṇḍavād anyaḥ sākṣād api śatakratuḥ ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ആ പരമാസ്ത്രം ഒരിക്കൽ വിട്ടുകഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അതിനെ വീണ്ടും സംഹരിച്ചു പിൻവലിക്കാനുള്ള ശക്തി പാണ്ഡവരിൽ അർജുനനെ ഒഴികെ മറ്റാരിലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; സാക്ഷാൽ ശതക്രതു ഇന്ദ്രനും അതിനെ തിരിച്ചുവലിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമായിരുന്നില്ല. സമരത്തിൽ ദിവ്യാസ്ത്രം ഒരിക്കൽ പുറപ്പെട്ടാൽ അതിന്റെ പ്രത്യാവർത്തനം ദേവന്മാർക്കും ദുഷ്കരം; അതിന്റെ വിനാശഗതി തടയാൻ കഴിയുന്നത് സംയമിയായ അർജുനനേ.
