Book 10, Adhyāya 12: Aśvatthāmā’s Request for the Cakra and the Brahmaśiras Context
स संरम्भी दुरात्मा च चपल: क्रूर एव च । वेद चास्त्रं ब्रह्मशिरस्तस्माद् रक्ष्यो वृकोदर:
sa saṃrambhī durātmā ca capalaḥ krūra eva ca | veda cāstraṃ brahmaśirastasmād rakṣyo vṛkodaraḥ ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അവൻ കോപത്തിൽ ഉന്മത്തൻ, ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയൻ, ചപലൻ, തീർച്ചയായും ക്രൂരൻ. കൂടാതെ ‘ബ്രഹ്മശിരസ്’ എന്ന അസ്ത്രവും അവൻ അറിയുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് അവനിൽ നിന്ന് വൃകോദരൻ (ഭീമൻ) സൂക്ഷ്മമായി സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടണം.
