अध्याय १ — न्यग्रोधवनोपवेशनम् तथा द्रौणिनिश्चयः
Night at the Banyan and Drauṇi’s Resolve
दिशं प्राचीं समाश्रित्य हृष्टानां गच्छतां भृशम् । रथनेमिस्वनाश्रैव श्रूयन्ते लोमहर्षणा:
diśaṁ prācīṁ samāśritya hṛṣṭānāṁ gacchatāṁ bhṛśam | rathanemisvanāś caiva śrūyante lomaharṣaṇāḥ ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—കിഴക്കുദിശയെ അഭിമുഖീകരിച്ച്, ഉല്ലാസം നിറഞ്ഞ പാണ്ഡവയോദ്ധാക്കൾ അതിവേഗത്തിൽ നീങ്ങുന്നു; അവരുടെ രഥചക്രങ്ങളുടെ രോമാഞ്ചകരമായ മുഴക്കങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കപ്പെടുന്നു।
