Educational Q&A

Legitimate rule is not merely political power; it is validated through dharmic procedure—Vedic learning, ritual propriety, and the public assent of respected sages—so that kingship is framed as a moral responsibility under sacred norms.

Duryodhana reports that Paraśurāma and other Veda-proficient sages, pleased and approving, performed Yudhiṣṭhira’s royal consecration, formally establishing him as king through an auspicious, authoritative ceremony.
